Like most of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories, the main character is always pictured as insane. Which is one of the reasons I think Poe is so bodacious. In a way it makes you feel sorry or uncomfortable about him because of his confusion and lack of sanity. How he seems to laugh at the Raven, which is superstitiously believed to be a sign of death.Edgar's stories seem to put you in a weird indescribable place or emotion that can't be simply put as sad or depressing. He moved this story from the feeling of loneliness, to the feeling of happiness and suspense, and then he moves it to loneliness again, then happiness and it kind of goes up and down because of all the different events in such short paragraphs. The story was obviously way more impressive than anything I could of written or anyone else because he was a gifted writer. I rate this book eleven out of ten because infinity isn't a whole number.

"The Raven" is a poem, not a story. Please include your reading details for the week.
