So in Poppers Penguins we start off with living the simple life of a house painter but it grows up to more than just living in the everyday life of Mr.Popper. It soon grows to Mr.Popper not only gaining intrest in the Arctic but in fact buying his own penguin. May I say, Mr.Popper had put himself in one sticky situation when that penguin laid eggs. Off course Mr.Popper being the responsible man he is he didn't just turn on the stove and have a nice breakfast but he had decided to take care of the penguins because as his father told him "Any boy can have a baby (penguin) but it takes a man to take care of him" which is very wise of him.
Later on in this story the big events start to happen which, you probably didn't guess it, the penguins get involved in show business. But here's where this all falls down to mush. Mr.Popper goes to jail for reasons unrememberable to me. Then he escapes prison and this is one major part in the story! The downfall ending begins when Mr.Popper returns the penguins to the Arctic and ignoring his fathers advice but he said "They are old enough to live on their own anyway." In the ending most of the children start to cry because that is like humane animal abuse to children. Just abandoning those poor penguins. I have lost much respect in you Mr.Popper. Much respect indeed.

Something you have read *recently,* Anthony, not in 3rd grade
ReplyDeleteGotta love Popper and his penguins, very amusing story and blog, though perhaps a third grade book wasn't the best choice.
