What's been going on in Chapter 11 of Lord of the Flies.......

I would like to start off that Piggy is dead and I am just angered with the power of one that might destroy a whole race of people. Piggy should not be dead. Jack should be dead because I think everyone agrees that he is the most sickening character in the whole story. If it wasn't for him going all bamboozled Piggy would be alive. If you are reading this Jack I want to tell you that in Saudi Arabia they cut off your hands for stealing. I will fly you all the way over to Saudi Arabia just to smuggle apples into your pockets. You are a murderer of the true higher power. It may not of been you that rolled the rock that hit Piggy but you are the reason it happened. Because of this event we see the true work of a savage that does not hold back when it comes to his territory and rule.

Now that I have released all of that inner tension in the form of digital text I will explain another major event of this chapter. For one this the conch breaks. For me this was just the apex of anarchy for the boys on the island. Without that shell there is no sign for higher rule. Nobody has power and it is every man for themselves with alliances between the some of the boys. It's as if the whole story was leading up to this moment as the savages grow more and more in insanity until it finally cracks and all leadership is worthless.

We also see that Ralph and Jack get into an epic controversy over Piggy's glasses and the conches power. This then leads to an epic brawl between the two chiefs.  Not once, but twice in a row. This moment beyond no others show the greatness of opposition between the two of them. It was sanity versus insanity. I was also wondering what this may of looked like. How dirty were they and how long was their hair? I sort of imagined it as a heavy metal mosh pit. The long hair, and the dirt, and the shoulder shoving. I mean it makes perfect since to me to see that connection.

THE BOOKS THIS YEAR BY FAR!

Sorry I'm a tad bit late but hey, we're all human. We all make mistakes, some that can never be changed. Some make an impact on more than one's self and change the world.

But getting back on task, here are the books I've had attempted to comprehend as of the year 2012.
FIRST WE GOT IN DEFENSE OF FOOD!
then Nation, then Scar Tissue, then In His Own Write, then A Spaniard in The Works, then Lord of the Flies, and I also read The Hiding Place during the months of summer if that counts. I hope it does.

So far that is only 7 books so basically I have to step up my game. The problem I have with books is that I am completely unrecognized with what to read. I don't know of any books on the top of my mind that intrest me. I do read a lot of things that intrest me, as in that's what I do all day on some days. The problem with that is they are all written on websites or some other short story or lyric that you can't really find in a library as well as awfully short to be considered a full book.

However, I do have a couple of friends from outside of the school I'm in now, one in particular that is very into the arts and literature and we share a lot of the same intrest together except he is a whole lot more avid in reading different types of novels and conspiracy. He keeps asking me to read Denpa Kyoushi but that's manga and manga is just a little.... a little too manga for me. Nevertheless I still think he can introduce me to new things even though usually it's vice versa from there. I must say he has the swagger of an elephant and I'm pretty sure that is the most swag one can possibly contain.

My Free Post on Canada

I have been thinking a lot lately and have put into consideration moving to the motherland Canada. I think I will start a new life there with my people. I will graduate college there and live in a little house on the top of the hills where I will practice meditation and traditions of the didgeridoo. I personally think that people of my generation in the United States are rather obnoxious while the people  of Canada are in good shape. Don't get me wrong here when I say people my age in the United States are obnoxious. Or do get me wrong, whatever works for you. I just think that people in the US are way too much into fads and always complain like "I wish my parents would buy me a new phone" when they have the one that just came out last year or "I hate when people tell me what to do" when people in 3rd world countries are practically slaves or "I wish I could smell" said in this world with the nose of a girl.

Canada is not like that. Take a small look at the Canadian youth and you just see personal style and are just way cooler than in the US. It also really rustles my jimmies how people in the United States are so obsessed with standing out and being the best while in Canada you live in a mountain and go to school. It is truly a magical place with fun and joy. To finish off I would like to say that Canada in amazing and are the only country that make comfortable flannel. That's where I like to buy my flannel for when I move there.

Strong Independent Thesis who don't need no man

As of lately in English we have been studying thesis statements. I know that would be an obvious statement but I can never come up with a good first sentence. Three of the outside reading books I have read are The Sniper, Hills like White Elephants, and The Return. In these stories I think that my best bet for making a good thesis would be on the story Hills like White Elephants for no reason in particular. I just feel as if I could connect better to the story as a whole. The only good thesis statement I could possibly come up with for The Sniper is just something really stupid like determining if the sniper had wanted his brother dead or not. In my opinion I think that that is horrible so that's why I'm going with Hills like White Elephants.

Things I have noticed in this story that stand out from other stories is there are no nouns or a direct conflict. The whole book is written out using pronouns like he and she and they never necessarily say what is actually going on. According to Dr.D the conflict was something about the girl being pregnant however I think that that could be wrong. During my first read through of this book I came up with the conclusion that they must of been crossing their countries border to go to freedom which would be a much more supported conflict due to the amount of alcohol being consumed which is horrible if you're having a baby. It also explains why they were packing their bags and heading on train and how most of the drinks they had were of Spanish descent.

I just had come up with a new statement involving both of the conflicts listed. Maybe the girl could of been pregnant but was coming to another country to have a baby just for having citizenship. She could obviously care less for a baby if she was simply using it to gain citizenship which gave her an excuse to drink alcohol and would explain why it was only two people because they were the parents. The two of the main characters could be drinking as a way of saying farewell to their homeland simply trying to enjoy the very few seconds they would have left. More evidence can be backed up from a small argument between the two. The girl being the mother was saying they could start a happy new life but the boy being nervous and hopeless about being a father was on denial that their life would change and it would get worse. However considering they are in Barcelona I also believe this may be during a war as well but that is just a side thought and probably has no relevance to everything else I am saying.

The Evaluation of Participation

General Procedures:
I would say that of recent events I am more of a person of actually being ready for class although I have always had a pen, place to keep handed out papers, and paper to write on.
Lecture, Announcement,  Whole Class Discussion:
Note taking is a thing I have not been very active on this year (if not ever). I'm always listening just not usually in a manner as someone who takes obsessive notes is. I wouldn't say I ever really do much contributing to class discussion unlike in middle school when all I would do is talk 24/7 and most likely distract everyones attention. Also, I do use computers appropriately in the rare occasion I have one in use during class.
Individual and Group Work:
For me, individual work is greatly preferred over group work mostly because it doesn't require me to write what I don't believe on paper simply because it was the greater vote of the group. I do stay focused although I also don't commonly interfere with others with my arguments.
Growth:
Something I should change for this next upcoming 9 weeks should be probably just my work at home. Email and online assignments is something I still have to catch up on. Other than that I don't think I'm really doing anything erroneous or other such fancy words. I'm horrible at remembering things now for some reason. No matter how many times I'm told something I always end up somewhere else losing all track of thought revolving around the subject of what needed to be done. I just need to do my homework but I fall asleep too much. I don't know what I can do to change this. Maybe write some stuff on my hand.

Reading Response BUT with amazing plot structure

Unfortunately currently I am not reading any book with a certain plot in particular so I suppose I wil base this off a book I have read in the past. A nice book I've read is Mr.Popper's Penguins in third grade. I can't quite remember it totally but I will try my hardest to remember so it may just add more of my confusion to this blog which is never a bad thing. It's more like having a cleft chin, it just makes it special.

So in Poppers Penguins we start off with living the simple life of a house painter but it grows up to more than just living in the everyday life of Mr.Popper. It soon grows to Mr.Popper not only gaining intrest in the Arctic but in fact buying his own penguin. May I say, Mr.Popper had put himself in one sticky situation when that penguin laid eggs. Off course Mr.Popper being the responsible man he is he didn't just turn on the stove and have a nice breakfast but he had decided to take care of the penguins because as his father told him "Any boy can have a baby (penguin) but it takes a man to take care of him" which is very wise of him.

Later on in this story the big events start to happen which, you probably didn't guess it, the penguins get involved in show business. But here's where this all falls down to mush. Mr.Popper goes to jail for reasons unrememberable to me. Then he escapes prison and this is one major part in the story! The downfall ending begins when Mr.Popper returns the penguins to the Arctic and ignoring his fathers advice but he said "They are old enough to live on their own anyway." In the ending most of the children start to cry because that is like humane animal abuse to children. Just abandoning those poor penguins. I have lost much respect in you Mr.Popper. Much respect indeed.
