Response Post

Alright, let's get this pajama party started. For starters, I don't really get any comments on my post so this will be kind of awkward for me to write but whatever, that's life. That's what all the people say. So here on my third post on the first day I got a comment from Dr.D saying I have an interesting voice. There's not much to argue here. The truth is the truth. I also receive another pleasant review saying that my post has lovely details. All I have to say is thank you. Here at Nicholas Dragon Studios we try our hardest to create these lovely moments.

Further on in life I have also received another comment from, you guessed it, Dr.D. She states that "The Raven" is not a story but in fact a poem. Considering this assignment was for discussion/argument I shall state that a story is just a group of sentences forming a plot and making an interesting tale. Poems can do this also. For example: "Billy went to the store and got a new Cat. He ate all his food and hunted the rat.". That is not only a poem, but a short story. Here I conclude my blog for later update in comments so I can have involved discussions with my readers.

  1. So yes, a poem can contain a story. When that happens, we call it a "narrative poem," and "The Raven" definitely is one of those. Much of the work in our class is using literary terms with precision, so that was why I made the comment. Sometimes genres blur, certainly, but we want to use the most precise language we have available and the term "short story" implies you are talking about prose.
